Safety drive at Sandwich infants school

KENT NEWS:

Proposals to increase safety in the area around Sandwich Infant School for pupils, parents and staff have been discussed by members of the town council.

A call for flashing lights along the roadside warning motorists of the proximity of the school was supported.

Councillors also voted to “actively encourage” Kent Highways to put in a pedestrian crossing in Strand Street to improve access to the school for those on foot.

The council also wants to form a Sandwich Traffic Forum, which would include representatives from town bodies and community groups.
